Become a Cadet

BECOME A CADET

Many school leavers and even graduates find getting a foot-hold in the work place challenging.  Even with great qualifications, it is a lack of experience that holds many talented young people back.

The Cadet Academy offers successful candidates training in reception, accounts administration, team administration, research and marketing, as well as experience both within the FCA group and in its wider client base.  More than simply gaining experience and corporate development, this affords Cadets the opportunity to showcase their potential across a wide spectrum of possible future employers.

As a Cadet, you will enjoy the security that comes with permanent employment but, more importantly, you will be working in an environment that is committed to service excellence, ethical business practice and to the development of your skills and career.  In addition to your training, you will gain invaluable practical experience and exposure with the top employers in the country.

As there are limited positions available within the Academy, a strict selection process is followed.  Cadets may be graduates or school leavers and once employed, every effort is made where possible, to assign Cadets to positions that are in line with their professional interests.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BECOME A CADET?

1. Qualifications
A matric certificate is the minimum requirement for admission to the Cadet Academy, and a degree or diploma is advantageous.  As the assignments are varied in terms of both industry and position, Cadets across all disciplines are employed by the Academy.

2. Experience
Experience is not essential although having a good reference who is not a past teacher or an uncle always helps! We recommend that students take on part time work or vacation jobs to ensure that, by the time they enter the workplace, they do have one or two references.

3. Attitude
Most importantly, successful candidates are hard working, perseverant and reliable individuals who understand that the Academy is there to equip them with the soft skills and corporate know-how required for a permanent position in the workplace – and that with each assignment, not only will they represent the Academy, but they will be showcasing their own professionalism and skills to potential future employers.
