What does the Academy offer
We provide reliable, presentable and competent temporary staff able to fill operational gaps quickly and efficiently, at competitive rates and at short notice, all the while contributing towards skills development in the South African market.
As a simple example, your receptionist calls in at 8am to let you know that she has fallen ill and will not be in today. In the past, this would have meant either a drain on resources elsewhere in your organisation, or what can sometimes be a risky call to an agency to arrange a temp who may or may not arrive. Through the Academy, a presentable and professional temp in the form of a Cadet is simply a click away.
In addition, clients can request the same Cadet time and again ensuring continuity and client knowledge. This means that employing a temp need not come at a cost to operations in terms of repetitive training.
How does the Academy work?
Using academic records and indepth references, as well as Afrizan's resources and expertise when it comes to sourcing and identifying potential, we select equity graduates and school leavers for the Cadet Academy based on attitude and aptitude - identifing individuals who are determined to prove themselves and to gain a foothold in the corporate world.
Once employed by the Academy, Cadets receive training both developed in-house, and sourced from the country’s top training providers. Cadets gain practical experience within the FCA group in various areas of office administration including reception and switchboard, accounts administration, team administration as well as research and marketing.
Having gained experience and training within the Academy and the FCA group, Cadets are outsourced to meet clients' temporary staffing needs. Currently, our Cadets are able to fill operational gaps in office administration, reception as well as marketing and research but we are developing an IT Cadet pool which will be launched in the coming months.
Through this outsourced business model, Cadets gain invaluable experience and exposure accross a wide range of industries and roles. In keeping with the Academy's focus on skills development and career progression, we aim to place Cadets at our clients permanently within six months to a year of joining the Academy (Outplacement).
Clients are able to view and book Cadets online through our innovative booking system or directly with their Afrizan account manager. Cadets are available both at short notice and can be booked in advance where operational gaps are anticipated.
Fees
While the cost of hiring a Cadet is very much in line with temp agency fees, the service provided and the time saved is incomparable:
- You can request the same Cadet thereby reducing costly time spent training a new temp
- Our online booking system is designed to save you time when booking a temp as favourite Cadets can be saved and easily accessed, and having all of your information and requirements centralised means that we are better able to service those needs quickly and efficiently
- Clients can rest assured that which ever Cadet they choose will have the same training and high standards as laid down by the Academy
